Image
Assalamualaikum, my name is SYAZA NABIHAH BINTI MOHD AZMAN and this are all my drawing for this semester as a new part time degree student.     My first project, the charcoal media.     And then, my second project which is the pencil colour media.     My final project is using watercolour media.

PROJECT 3

Image
Last project for this semester is using a wet media. However, a friend of mine told me that a poster colour is different with a watercolour which the responed are from my Whatsapp status where i upload a picture of my poster colour that haven't been use for about 3 - 4 years from now. So, the rule here is that I have to use a watercolour for 70% in my art and another 30% from a dry media for shadow. Now I have to go to the art shop to buy some watercolour and I got the cheapest one because I'm all out of money haha.     This time, the subject matter is a gala theme and I choose one of the famous designer for this dress called Iris Van Herpen. I just love the design style. It's really look authentic and rare also hard to remake it (especially for me).      I forgot to take a picture of the body figure sketch which its really tricky and I'm very focused on erase and drawing this reference. The details on this dress basically not much like...

PROJECT 2

This time our project have to use pencil colour or dry media and it's kind of like my favourite medium of art to use just except that it take a lot more time. Oh well, it still kind of my therapy to colour when i'm down, depress or feeling drain, i just draw to make my mind wonder in imagination. I use to draw a ball gown using this method and now i have a new task which is drawing a street wear style. It's really challenging. Any how, the subject matter already been proceed and i have to do it by hook or by crook. Well, wish me luck...      First thing first, i draw a body figure for this posture. Gladly it's not that hard and I put some details like the jacket, skirt and boots (just a sketch of it).  The tricky part is that the subject matter have a lots of writing on her clothing. I am trying my best to get the exact structure of the writing so it doesn't feel stiff and weird.         After all the details on her clothi...

CHARCOAL POSE FIGURE

Image
I used to draw with charcoal chalk before with my inspiration a pumpkin in A2 drawing paper. It was easy to manage the pressure and the area to shade because it's in big scale. At the same time, really scared to use charcoal as it make the drawing 'burnt' as there are no shading or value towards it.  From my experience using this method, i went to the stationary store to buy a charcoal pencil so that i can point out the outline easily and careful from to ruin my drawing. I found out that the charcoal pencil have 3 different level, just like the carbon pencil. It have hard, medium and soft level.  I do some research for this level while completing my drawing project and i have the knowledge how to use it and which level suit the best for the job. The 'hard' level, i used it for the outline drawing as the other charcoal can shade on it (it's like a candle on a watercolour painting). After that, there is the 'medium' level where i used it to shade the tone...

FACIAL SKETCH PRACTICE

Image
I love to draw face because it's where i can create emotion. My friends always tell me that my illustration character are more likely a combination of Disney and anime character. I do love watching Disney cartoon or animation because it give joy and excitement. Usually i will draw the eyes part, big and simple which assemble a cartoonish like character. Now days, my eyes character are changing because i highlight it on the eyelash. I admire long eyelash because it make a small eyes wide and bold.    Meanwhile, the nose part, if i draw it in big scale it look perfect but if it scale down, it became just like an anime facial figure. It will be simple and pointy. Sometime it's hard for me to draw a good , measurement from eyes to nose. It's either became too short or too long. Even though my nose is round shape because of my nation, i do love to draw the nose part like the English people where their nose are pointy. As for the lip part, i like it simple and anime looking ch...

9 HEAD FIGURE

Image
Assalamualaikum, My first day in drawing class, sir had teach us about 9 head figure which before this i thought i need to draw 9 circle ( its really troublesome for me just to imagine that i had to draw so many head at once just for 1 figure). Before this, i just draw the proportion according to my eyes level of perfection hehe. I always make sure that my figure must have a long legs (even thought mine is short .. well i'm not a model after all). After sir explain about this method, my memory came back from the century old and i was like "where have you gone? This is brilliant and i am going to use this method all the time now." So here is my practice drawing of this method.
